Meet the Researcher
A little more about me
I am a PhD student in Trinity College Dublin. I also work to help find new foster carers as a Principal Social Worker in Tusla.
I live in Dublin and I am married with two children. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like music, reading and lifting weights in the gym when I get time!
I have worked closely with relative carers and young people in relative care as a social worker for many years. This experience has underpinned my desire to undertake this study. I want to deepen our understanding of the experience of young people who grew up in relative care.
I would like to use this understanding and research to help to improve practice for young people in care, and particularly in relative foster care.
It is important to say, that I am doing this study as a PhD student separately and outside of my work in Tusla. All the information in the study will be anonymous. I will not be sharing any personal information with any third parties including Tusla.
